All-Star Day Camp- 5-12 years old (8 weeks)

Location: Appleton Center, 6585 Cote des Neiges
Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm

In this 8-week day camp, your child will learn the fundamentals from the best in the business!

  • DJing
  • B-Boy/B-Girl
  • Graffiti and sketching
  • Videography and filming

With swimming, sports, outings, and a big showcase to celebrate the end of the camp!!!

Falcons Basketball Camp- Ages 6-17 (7 weeks)

Location: Lavoie High School
Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm

Our 7-week camp, from July 4th – August 18th, focuses on the basics of basketball.

  • Ball handling
  • Training in attack and defense
  • Passing
  • Attack with or without the ball
  • Shooting
  • Rebounding
  • Physical conditioning

Leadership Summer Program for pre-teens and teens – Ages 13-17 (7 weeks)

Location: Nelson Mandela Pavilion, 4920 Vezina
Hours: 10am-4pm

Directed by Kathy Roach, this program explores subjects relevant to teens including:

  • Drug and alcohol prevention
  • Sexuality
  • Creative expression: drama, dance, spoken word, DJing
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Outings
  • Swimming
  • Camping and more

After School Program - CDNBCAAfter School Program

Location: Nelson Mandela Pavilion
Hours: Monday to Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Children receive academic support from qualified staff that helps to complete homework and reinforce classroom learning.

 

Saturday Program - CDNBCASaturday Program

Location: Appleton Center
Hours: Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Children aged 6-12 years participate in a wide variety of recreational, cultural and educational programs that assist them in the development of their cultural minds and bodies of various arts and cultural opportunities.

 

Piano - CDNBCAPiano

Location: Appleton Center
Hours: Saturday 9:30 am to 5:30 pm

Children are taught basic keyboard technique; reading of music notation and interpretive playing. The aim is to develop awareness of another “international language” and self-confidence through achievement while having “fun”.

 

Steel Pan - CDNBCASteel Pan

In collaboration with Salah Steel Pan Academy

Location: Appleton Center
Hours: Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Saturday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Participants learn musical theory and how to play the various types of Steel Pan. Participants learn many compositions from a wide variety of artists.

 Teen Leadership - CDNBCATeen Leadership

Location: Nelson Mandela Pavilion
Hours: Every 2nd Saturday from 1:00 pm to 4:00pm

Teen leadership provides meaningful and constructive activities for adolescents from 13 to 17 years old. The program consists of black history, video project, personal development, outings, debates, role model projects, job search techniques, creative expression, dance classes, event planning, volunteering, and leadership styles.

Teen Zone - CDNBCATeen Zone

Location: Nelson Mandela Pavilion
Hours: 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Open to youths 12-17 for homework aid, workshops games and special events. Mandela Chalet teen recreational centre offers an alternative in programming for all youth in the cote-des-neiges area. The aim of the center is to strengthen the social development of youths by creating a welcoming environment for adolescents of all cultural backgrounds. 

Falcon's Basketball Program - CDNBCAFalcon’s Basketball Program

Location: Lavoie Gym
Hours: Saturday from 1:30 am to 6:30 pm

Mini 8 and 9 years, Atom 10 and 11 years, Bantam 13 years and under, Midget 15 and under, Juvenile 17 and under. Youth ages 8-13 are placed in divisions according to ages. This program offers a focused and intense training that is essential for learning and improvement of the fundamentals of basketball skills and techniques. They are taught passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding and defense. This is then demonstrated in expedition games and tournaments. Youths are encouraged to be team players and to practice positive sportsmanship.
